“… any time I hear someone say, ‘why can’t the woman just put the baby up for adoption’ I cringe.
…
And that is why I am pro-choice. Because unless YOU, YOU YOURSELF are willing to take a woman’s child into your own home and raise it yourself, you’ve no right to make that decision for her.”
Yeap, my sentiments exactly. I see a lot of these “Oh please don’t abort! Give the baby a chance to live, at least put him/her up for adoption!” pleas on the motherhood forum, from mums who’ve made it their mission to infiltrate abortion threads to save little lives. They also attempt to quash any effort to explain the abortion process and any pro-choice views by drowning it with their rhetoric and abortion urban legends.
I guess they think they’re helping, and there are mums who change their minds, but that’s more because they’ve found real support in the form of commitment from their partner or a promise of aid from family members.
I have very little respect for some of these online pro-life crusaders, because I too considered abortion, and reading what they had to say would not have helped me at all. I’ve also learned it’s pointless to have an argument with people you don’t respect, because you can’t win either ways.

Mothers don’t put their babies up for adoption unless if they can’t take care of the babies because they are not capable or they are dying..
